Position Title: Audio-Visual Specialist

The Audio-Visual Specialist is RCC's resident expert on the A/V systems used throughout the College's event facilities, including the Reggie Lewis Track & Athletic Center, Media Arts Center (Auditorium & Alumni Lounge), Student Commons, and outdoor event spaces. The A/V Specialist manages and maintains A/V systems in event spaces across the campus, installing updates and making recommendations on software improvements as required. The A/V Specialist works closely with the Events Department (including contracted 03 event staff) and the IT Department to ensure that client needs are met while adhering to College IT policies and procedures. The Specialist is the lead point of contact for A/V needs for all campus events and serves as the onsite A/V manager for events with complex technical requirements regularly.

Job Requirements:
· Manages detailed inventory of A/V equipment across the campus.
· Maintains A/V equipment across campus, including equipment at the Reggie Lewis Track and Athletic Center. Installs software updates and makes recommendations on software improvements.
· Troubleshoots equipment failures, utilizing approved third-party vendors as needed.
· Manages special IT and A/V requests for large-scale events, including but not limited establishing stand-alone Wi-Fi networks (secure and guest access), providing IT support for timing and public safety break-out spaces, serving as primary IT and A/V point of contact at planning meetings, etc.
· Attends weekly operations meetings, securing additional support through 03 technicians and on-campus IT provider when capacity is exceeded.
· Provides day-of support at special events. Duration of support will vary by event size and A/V & IT support needs.
Qualifications:
Associate's degree in computer science, multimedia, or related field.
· Experience with BOSE sound systems, ceiling mounted projectors, jumbotrons (or comparable displays at athletic facilities), and other networked A/V equipment
· Working knowledge of sound boards, lighting boards, and their programming requirements
· Availability to work nights and evenings as required.
· Exceptional communications and interpersonal skills
· Experience with Microsoft computer applications and event management software preferred.
Physical Qualifications:
· Move and transport objects such as screens, monitors, equipment carts, AV racks, and AV podia with weight up to 50lbs (frequency of working with the maximum weight may be up to several times a month)
· Travel between buildings during inclement weather
· Move cart-based equipment between buildings
· Work in enclosed spaces in the vicinity of numerous electronic components
· Navigate in enclosed spaces in the vicinity of numerous electronic components
· Navigate to and from workspaces accessible only by stairs
· Sharply focus projected images close or from distances up to 200 feet
