The Opportunity
The Senior Instructional Technology Project Specialist is the primary technology lead of all installed audiovisual systems supporting classrooms, conference rooms, and additional collaborative facilities for the SC Johnson College of Business which includes a portfolio of over 100 unique classroom, conference and meeting rooms spread across six buildings and two geographic areas, Ithaca, NY, and New York City.
The Senior Instructional Technology Project Specialist monitors and analyzes technology needs by constantly examining faculty, staff, and student satisfaction level. They use this feedback to inform evaluation of installed technologies for their effectiveness in supporting the College's goals, continually researches, designs, and implements new technologies as teaching and collaboration methods evolve, analyzes implications of proposed technology solutions, and maintains systems with emphasis on functionality, reliability, ease of use, and consistency.
The Senior Instructional Technology Project Specialist collaborates with both internal and external partners including Audio-Visual, acoustical, and electrical vendors, other college IT staff and facilities personnel.
This position has a dual reporting relationship where 80% of the role reports to the Associate Director of Instructional and Collaborative Technologies at the SC Johnson College of Business and the remaining 20% reports to Cornell Information Technologies, the university's central IT organization, providing tier 2 or 3 support for AV systems across campus.

What We Need
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree required (computer science, communications, electrical engineering, or related area preferred) with five (5)+ years of relevant experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Possess in-depth knowledge of videoconference equipment, Crestron control systems, video switchers & distribution systems, digital sound processors (DSP), video recording & streaming.
- Basic knowledge of various audio, video and control standards including RS-232, Crestron DM, HD Base-T, HDMI, HDCP, h.323 and IP.
- Working level knowledge required for computer hardware/software including Windows, network equipment and protocols and broadband network facilities.
- Extensive project management and problem-solving skills. This role requires strong organizational skills in managing and monitoring multiple project schedules, budgets and expenses.
- Excellent customer service experience in a client-centered environment; proven leadership skills
- Proven ability to work under stressful conditions and extreme time constraints while meeting critical deadlines in a fault-tolerant environment.
- Excellent documentation: organizational and time-management skills with demonstrated initiative;
- A high level of interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively with management, faculty, staff, students, and vendor personnel both in oral and written formats;
- Ability and initiative to conceptualize, and implement plans and custom solutions for dealing with a wide variety of technical, operational, and non-operational challenges.
- Experience in and/or demonstrated commitment to supporting diversity, equity, access, inclusion, and wellbeing.
- Ability to cultivate and develop inclusive and equitable working relationships with students, faculty, staff, and community members.

Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with performing cost analysis, forecasting and technical writing.
- Knowledge of television studio control systems, including production switchers, camera control units (CCU), audio mixers/digital sound processors, character generators and digital video capture.
