Full Time position to provide audio, visual, and technical support services for meetings, conferences, and events managed by the Office of Conference & Event Services on the Ithaca College Campus. Provide on-site supervision and serve as a consultant for clients with regard to audio-visual set-up, services and support. Assist in supervision of student, temporary and contracted audio-visual technicians. Assist the Audio-Visual Services Manager in the management of audio-visual services and maintaining the inventory of all audio-visual equipment.

This position reports directly to the Audio-Visual Services Manager.
Representative Duties
Duties may include but are not limited to the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Essential Duties
Plan and provide the delivery of all audio-visual services for special events managed by the Office of Conference & Event Services to include live sound support, concert and theatrical lighting, video projection, web streaming, and virtual/hybrid event support as required to meet the needs of internal and external events. Meet with internal and external clients prior to events to determine services to be offered. Manage the media content for events.
Provide appropriate service to clients using the audio-visual equipment in the Campus Center including lighting systems; sound systems; video switching and projection systems; video cameras; and Smart classroom/meeting systems and other hybrid meeting technology.
Coordinate the system for virtual events using Zoom or other web streaming technology. Provide consultation and virtual event creation, scheduling, management and hosting during all virtual events. Provide post-event support with delivery of recordings and event reports and analytics. Devise creative solutions and consultation for all virtual/hybrid event challenges for Cabinet-level and BOT meetings and events. Manage the college’s large Zoom accounts and license allocation in conjunction with IT Services. Oversee the scheduling and payment of the external captioning service utilized for virtual events.
Provide appropriate service to clients using portable audio-visual equipment. Operate mechanical lifts and a College van used for audio-visual equipment transport.
Design, operate, and maintain custom video switching, routing, and livestreaming systems for events. Maintain the Emerson Suites sound, lighting, and video systems while researching and specifying new technologies for purchase. Provide ongoing, basic maintenance and service for audiovisual equipment and replace or purchase new equipment and supplies as needed.
Manage and configure CES AV Services’ inventory of computers, tablets, and stand-alone wi-fi networks along with the file sharing systems and network connectivity of all projectors, digital mixing consoles, lighting systems, video cameras and other technology.
Provide assistance to the Audio-Visual Services Manager in the operations of audio-visual services to include the scheduling of equipment, development of student schedules, and billing. Assist in maintaining the inventory of all audio-visual equipment and infrastructure managed by the Office of Campus Center & Event Services and coordinate service and maintenance as needed. Coordinate regular equipment purchases under the oversight of AV Services Manager and routine ordering of expendable items.
Provide on-site supervision of student, temporary, and contracted audiovisual technicians providing audio, visual, and technical support services for meetings, conference and events as assigned.

Provide basic service and maintenance for all Conference & Event Services audiovisual equipment. Provide ongoing, basic repair as needed during event shifts.
Develop an understanding of and be able to operate audiovisual systems under the jurisdiction of Information Technology Services, the Athletics and Events Center, and the Schools of Communications and Music, Theatre, and Dance.
Qualifications
Formal training or education and the ability to demonstrate a working knowledge and experience with both fixed and portable sound, lighting and projection equipment and computer display systems, strong organizational, interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to effectively work and interact respectfully within a diverse and inclusive environment. Possession of or ability to obtain a valid New York State driver’s license preferred. Previous experience in a higher education setting is preferred.
Work Environment
Most of the work of the incumbent is carried out within a generally accessible, safe, indoor environment. Flexibility to work a significant number of evenings and weekends is required. The incumbent will be required to operate office equipment such as a personal computer, photocopier, and fax machine. The incumbent may be required to lift and carry equipment weighing up to 100 lbs. The incumbent may be required to attend workshops, meetings, or conferences requiring occasional travel.
