As the Supervisor, Audiovisual and Classroom Support, you will supervise the Audiovisual Support team consisting of two or more technical support personnel distributed across GW campuses. We are focused on providing a more stable technology service by increasing the capabilities of our AV support team, by streamlining the remote assistance, dispatch and request resolution processes, and by working collaboratively with all support and engineering entities both internal to GW IT and also the university at large. This is a management position at the university that, in addition to leading a work unit, leads and supervises staff directly, makes hiring decisions, provides hands-on coaching, training and mentoring, manages performance and determines future staffing needs.
Your job duties will include:
Supervise audiovisual support personnel, schedule personnel for adequate technical support coverage, manage audiovisual support ticket queues, and analyze & report metrics/ trends to leadership.
Prioritize, triage, and ensure audiovisual support requests are handled expeditiously and thoroughly.
Provide direct, hands-on technical guidance to your tech support personnel and demonstrate AV troubleshooting skills & basic networking functions.
Enhance customer service with GW schools and administrative constituents of the GW IT dispatched technology support PODs, and sets/ maintains /improves efficiencies and service level agreements.
Consults, trains, advises, documents, and informs faculty, staff, and students regarding information technology infrastructures, products, and services.
Oversee the consumption, restocking, distribution, and securing of consumables and operational supplies. Report on end of fiscal usage and current inventory states for budget call and annual reports.
Contribute to decisions regarding policies and procedures, research, planning, developing activities in the functional area, and contributes to managerial organizational planning.
Perform other related duties as assigned. The omission of specific duties does not preclude the supervisor from assigning duties that are logically related to the position.
Qualified candidates will hold a high school diploma/GED plus 4 years of relevant professional experience, or, a Bachelor’s degree or higher in a relevant area of study. Degree must be conferred by the start date of the position. Degree requirements may be substituted with an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
