LightWerks is seeking a project management expert familiar with the audio visual integration, or general construction industry.
This key person:
Will advise leadership and/or business executives at the highest levels about the project portfolio, status, and resource planning for delivering strategic business initiatives.
Plans, directs, and ensures the successful management of designed business solutions utilizing the complete resources of the Project Management Office (PMO) and assigned project management teams.
Provides technical assistance in identifying, evaluating, and developing methods and procedures that are efficient, effective and meet good business practice.
Maintains excellent communication with upper management both within and across organizations to ensure smooth running of all projects undertaken by team.
Is responsible for leading PMO in a mature and organization-focused manner, providing help where necessary to project a professional image.
Has expert experience in Project/Program Management and able to lead in the coaching and mentoring of team members to help them achieve individual expectations and deliverables.
Assesses resource loads and makes appropriate individual assignments.
Will be a contributing team member of the company’s Senior Management team, participating regularly in standing meetings with the Executive board to share wide perspectives and clarify and confirm direction of the company, drive ownership, accountability, and execution responsibility of key company decisions deep into the organization, and optimize C-Level / VP-Level / Director-Level / Manager-Level information flow (down and up).
Responsibilities: The Director of Project Management’s responsibilities will include:
Advising leadership and/or business executives at the highest levels about the project portfolio, status, progress and resource planning for delivering strategic business Initiatives.
Acting as Liaison and providing leadership for team and area of responsibility.
Providing leadership, direction and coaching on project specific tasks as well as individual professional development. Ability to see, account for, and coach others in the “big picture” as well as the details and to be able to tie initiatives to Corporate Goals
Allocating appropriate resources to ensure that projects, enhancements and support is/are completed within committed time, scope and budget.
Ensuring coverage of all areas of expertise necessary to support and grow the business within the Director's area of responsibility.
Creating and maintaining staffing plan to support the current and future work demands and project deliverables.
Ensuring functionality is integrated with other applications.
Developing Project Management support policies, standards and procedures.
Initiating and implementing new technologies, methodologies, process and procedures that will support Company long- and short-term goals.
Collaborating with Engineering manager providing constructive feedback to improve estimation best practices for labor and equipment
Collaborating with Service Director for improved hand-off of projects to Service department
Consistently striving for continuous improvement of all aspects of project management, delivery, and use of LightWerks tools/infrastructure to ensure industry leading execution of projects
Responsible for overall and on-going project portfolio health and profitability
Consistently maintaining a positive attitude and performing as a team player on a day-to-day basis.
Making recommendations for the continued improvement and performance of our business.

Creation and Support of Standards, Processes and Procedures necessary to produce the deliverables from the team and to work effectively with the other teams

Presenting information on projects, initiatives or other subjects to peers, teams, and upper management.
Providing ongoing reconciliation between long-term goals and short-term actions.
Assuming a leadership role in educating the business and technical community on Project and Program management processes and areas of expertise.
Job requirements to be able to perform this job:
Experience creating Business Requirements, Project Plans, Project Schedules, and associated project materials
Experience with supporting both purchased and in-house developed hardware and software applications
7+ years minimum experience in Project Management
7+ years minimum experience in AV or telecommunications industry preferred
7+ years minimum Management, Team Lead, or other equivalent leadership experience
5 years minimum experience developing business solutions with a variety of tools
MS Office Tools (Word, Excel, Project, PowerPoint, Visio)
Expert understanding of Project Management Body of Knowledge (PMBOK) Discipline (Integration, Scope, Time, Quality, Human Resources, Communications, Risk Management, Procurement)
Expert understanding of infrastructure project lifecycles within the Company
Ability to effectively manage time, prioritize work, multi-task across many assignments and delegate
Ability to assess the impact of new project requirements on an existing team workload
Technical writing skills producing clear and unambiguous deliverables
Must have use of hands/fingers and capable of lifting within regulatory limits
Business travel required (up to 30%)
Must be able to see and hear (naturally or with correction); speak clearly; coordinate eye-hand movements and use fingers skillfully; sit for long periods of time.
A four year degree or equivalent experience (7+ years of project management experience/training and 7+ years of management experience/training)
