1. Designs, engineers and integrates large scale audio/visual systems including video-conferencing technologies working closely with end users to ensure that final product(s) meets customers system specifications and is in line with time and budget requirements. 2. Confers with University architects, project committees and technology consultants to ensure audio/visual integrations conform to applicable code, regulations and University standards. 3. Consults with clients to develop project scope and design criteria. 4. Reviews schematic diagrams to determine signal flow and cable requirements and adapts as necessary to meet requirements. 5. Ensures conduit, floor boxes, AC power and related cabling is installed to project specification. 6. Communicates pertinent system requirements to audio/visual integration team so that there is a seamless integration among staff to deliver appropriate solutions to end users. 7. Manages and reviews the progress and quality of work performed by audio/visual integrators and steps in to get work back on track as needed. 8. Coordinates bid process with Procurement and Vendor Management for audio/visual integrations, including requests for proposals (RFPs) and requests for quotations (RFQs). 9. Troubleshoots complex audio, video, switching and control systems. 10. Facilitates problem resolution, maintenance and repair of audio/visual equipment. 11. Prepares cost estimates and tracks project progress using project tracking software. 12. Assists in the development of University design guidelines for audio/visual integrations. 13. Provides technical training and assistance for clients. 14. May perform other duties as required.
