Job Description: Position Summary: The Learning Technologies Analyst is responsible for operation, optimization, and troubleshooting technology issues for the Heritage College's unique suite of learning technologies, in addition to supporting the classroom support technology needs in accordance with end-user needs and strategic goals of the Heritage College. Applies in-depth application and service knowledge to solve technology problems and to provide a seamless learning experience for faculty, staff and students. Focuses on customer needs and effectively communicates with both technical and non-technical end users. The Learning Technologies Analyst provides advice and counsel to those with classroom support needs including classroom/learning support technology specific to medical education (i.e. ThinkHub Connect, eMedley, iHuman, LearningSpace, etc.), audiovisual/video conferencing tools and classroom technology operational needs. Responsible for organizing and creating documentation, training materials and support resources for end users and tier 1 support (help desk). Resolves complex support issues and engages other technical staff as needed to resolve the issue. Responsible for the production of highly visible programs within the Heritage College and ensures high quality distance learning, A/V, and other learning technology operations between extension campuses of the Heritage College. Primary Responsibilities: 1.Advanced Technical & Operational Support for Heritage College Medical Education Technology oProvide timely and advanced technical and operational support for a suite of related hardware, applications or services, specifically supporting specialized workflows and business processes of the Heritage College of Osteopathic Medicine. oWorks with Heritage College Faculty & Staff to understand technology requests and projects, provide advice and counseling on best approaches for the optimal classroom experience. oTroubleshoot technology issues, independently assess customer needs, and recommend the most appropriate solution. oApply in-depth service knowledge to solve technology problems and fulfill service requests. Respond to personal computing device, associated peripherals, and classroom IT/AV equipment work orders. Response to work orders may involve troubleshooting, and repairing computing or AV equipment, communicating with faculty, staff and students. Follow up with faculty, staff and students to insure proper operation of hardware and software. oFocuses on customer needs and effectively communicates with both technical and non-technical end users. oEnsure escalated issues are addressed in a timely manner and that established service level agreements are consistently achieved. oFacilitate customer communications during service interruptions or outages. oProvide primary or secondary support to Heritage College unique medical education systems education (i.e. ThinkHub Connect, eMedley, iHuman, LearningSpace, etc.) oProvide exceptional technical and operational support for a suite of related classroom applications or services in areas such as lecture capture, audience response systems, classroom presentation tools, and virtual microscopy. oDevelop, maintain, and organize documentation and support resources for users, peers, and lower level support functions. 2.Classroom Support and Distance Learning Operations Planning & Operations oWorks with Heritage College Faculty & Staff to understand technology requests and projects, provide advice and counseling on best approaches for the optimal classroom experience. oOrganize necessary resources and provide classroom technology and video conferencing operations to ensure a seamless learning experience to the Heritage College academic and clinical campuses oProvide exceptional technical and operational support for a suite of related classroom technologies or services oImplement standards to ensure the security, reliability and availability of Heritage College classroom and distance learning technology oAssist senior management with strategic initiatives including customization and integration with university systems oCoordinate with other Heritage College offices to schedule events and plan adequate resources oTrain faculty, staff and students on the use of classroom technology equipment oEnsure active Faculty & Student participation & engagement with learning technologies 3.Security, reliability & availability of Heritage College classroom support functions oDevelop and implement standards to ensure the security, reliability and availability of Heritage College unique technology. oStudies and understands policies, procedures and best practices when it comes to medical data and other sensitive data, provides instruction and guidance to faculty and staff to apply these policies and procedures. Preferred experience with electronic medical records and HIPAA/FERPA standards. oManage user access to applications to ensure user system access and functions are appropriately aligned with job function. Manage and maintenance of various computing devices and audio & video equipment for simulated patient environments. Includes the responsibility to document, analyze and track the appropriate level of access, especially concerning protection of sensitive data as it relates to HIPAA and FERPA requirements. Group Policy and System Center Configuration Manager (SCCM) experience preferred but not required. oConduct disaster recovery analysis and planning for Heritage College unique applications. 4.Strategic Planning Assistance oAssist senior management with strategic initiatives including application customization and integration with university systems through custom programming/API functionality and/or advanced knowledge of relevant industry standards and vendor tools for medical education technologies Minimum Qualifications: Minimum Requirements: -Bachelor’s degree in computer education technology, information management or related field. -6 years of work related experience -Strong ability in supporting classroom technologies, audio visual technologies and computing support to end users -Experience in directly interfacing with functional end users of enterprise application systems to improve or support organizational processes Preferred Qualifications: Preferred Qualifications: -Master’s degree in computer education technology, information management, or related field -8 years of work related experience -Medical education technology support -Experience with enterprise application support and integration Planning Unit: Heritage College of Osteopathic Medicine Department: COM-Information & Learning Technologies Applicants may contact this person if they have questions about this position: Susan Lachman, lachmans@ohio.edu, 740-593-2545 Employment Type: full-time regular Advertised Salary: Salary is commensurate with education and experience, while also considering internal equity.
