The Information Services Department at SUNY Downstate is seeking a full time Programmer Analyst. The successful candidate will: - Serve as primary point of contact for IT support to the Simulation Center - Pull student data from Envisions. - Enroll students and faculty in Learning Space from Envisions - Help the SIM Center staff solving any issues arising with the SIM center systems and software applications. - Perform troubleshooting and incident analysis with affected staff to ensure full resolution and timely remediation. Capture technical details and document steps taken to resolve the issue and provide end-user training and assistance where required. - Address any IT issues with computer peripherals like printers, scanners etc. - Assist in the regular setup and testing of necessary equipment for each simulation session. - Assist with student login into system management software (Learning Space). - Support and be present for all high-stakes exams and exam preparation exercises. - Gather data from Learning Space and create custom reports as requested by the faculty. - Generate student grades and skills reports. - Prepare software documentation for faculty graders. - Program custom code as needed. For example, utilize Python to build a timer on the server that connects with the client computers in order to time the Gateway exams. - Maintain backup systems and protocol for safeguarding against system failure. - Maintain appropriate data security and controls to prevent misuse of student data. - Provide feedback regarding needs and issues peratining to technology use in simulation as needed and requested. - Assist and collaborate with Simulation Operations Manager to record and complete service ticket items as assigned. Report necessary service matters to the Simulation Center Director, the Simulation Operations Manger and IT Management as appropriate. - Help identify support policy issues and process improvements. - Answer any questions related to Information Technology products and services. - Provide instructions or training to customers regarding functionality of hardware as well as software. For example, provide faculty training on the use of Learning Space. - Determine the most efficient manner in which the technical issue of a client can be solved. (DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES ARE NOT LIMITED TO THE ABOVE POSITION DESCRIPTION) QUALIFICATIONS: - Bachelor's degree prefered or minimum of two (2) years IT Support/ Analyst experience - Experience in an academic setting is preferred and in any of the following would be a plus: Office 365, Skype for Business, CAE Medical Educational Technology, Panopto Lecture Capture, Blackboard Collaborate, SCCM, Interactive Monitors (e.g. Promethean, SMART, Triumph), Crestron, ITIL, Lean IT - Experience in providing computer and AV support services to customers. - Significant technical skills in current desktop computing and operating systems (e.g. Windows 10, Macintosh), MS Office products, SIM/AV Technology, Video conferencing and in end user support. - Excellent interpersonal and communications skills - Strong analytical skills applied to understanding business requirements and translating those into application requirements and solutions - Previous work experience in healthcare simulation environment a plus - Experience in application support with Healthcare related applications support is a plus - Working knowledge of a range of diagnostic utilities - Strong documentation skills and attention to details - Experience working in a team oriented, collaborative environment - Exceptional customer service orientation - Ability to prioritize and execute tasks in a high pressure environment - Ability to present ideas in a user friendly language to non-technical end users - Ability to absorb and retain information quickly Additional Info: *Please include the 5 digit line number and job title in the subject and body of your email submission.Closing Date: Open Until Filled STATE UNIVERSITY OF NEW YORK IS AN EQUAL OPPORTUNITY / AFFIRMATIVE ACTION EMPLOYER
