Aeronautics and the NASA Aeronautics Research Institute (NARI) are both entering an exciting phase of transforming air traffic management systems to safely accommodate the growing demand of new air vehicles to enter the airspace in order to perform a wide array of missions while also supporting the Aeronautics Research Mission Directorate (ARMD) in identifying and executing new technical directions and partnerships that are more exploratory in nature. Additionally, we are tasked with exploring challenging use cases (e.g. high-density-crowded-vertiport operations for urban air mobility) to identify parameters for best performance by developing and testing key concepts.
KBR is looking for a Collaboration Technology and Web Specialist to join NARI (NASA Aeronautics Research Institute) at NASA Ames Research Center (ARC) to provide technical support, and support to the NARI team, including virtual meetings and event coordination, web-editing, tracking and scheduling of online and in-person events, assisting with online event design (e.g. storyboarding and submitting ideas to management and A/V team), and coordination activities for NASA. This individual shall design and implement all aspects of virtual and in person workshops along with an intuitive web-interface for registration, live-stream info and/or advertisement.
The Collaboration Technology and Web Specialist shall assist the NASA Aeronautics Research Institute (NARI) Director, Aeronautics Task Manager, and team in the technical expertise required to build and maintain communications technologies for specialized Aeronautics virtual and collaboration conference rooms. Provide development and maintenance of associated websites and web applications. Primary duties also include coordination with our IT partners in order to drive new research ideas while also scheduling and managing project meetings.
Technical Production and scheduling: includes technical production and development of collaborative and virtual technology webpages. Develop new webpages and web applications to ensure an optimal user experience across all platforms. Coordination with all partners (government, industry and academia) and web-editing on the NARI website is also required in order to setup and advertise the meeting which may include coordinating video conferencing technology and/or a call in number.
Virtual and Collaborative Meeting management: includes providing virtual and collaborative meeting support for Aeronautics management and project team activities at Ames as well as for ARMD at NASA HQ. Facilitate broadcast of virtual conferences and meetings between Ames and external organizations. Provide technical assistance, as required. Dissemination can include emailing recordings, Q&A, meeting minutes, webpages and associated documents to participants and/or posting to knowledge sharing sites.
Additional responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Support the development of virtual collaboration, websites, project plans, reports, and project milestone documentation; editing of technical documentation and papers.
Assist with and coordinate public outreach, education, and publicity for Aeronautics and activities.
Logistics support for conferences and meetings, various workshops, and strategic planning sessions.
General team coordination including logistical needs, procurement support, and logistics associated with Agency Consolidated End-User Services (ACES) computer equipment and NASA property.
Assist in the preparation of reports and procedural requests.
Assist in communication with and the coordination of affiliates.
Attend software, virtual collaboration, outreach, web-editing/web-programming and other Ames infrastructure trainings as required to perform the task.
Experienced with Live and On-Location Audio/Video Production.
Virtual collaboration and web specialist skills.
Experienced with online meeting software, such as Teams, Zoom, YouTube, Adobe Connect or WebEx.
Experienced with web editing in Adobe Dreamweaver, HTML, and /or Drupal (content writing experience).
Proficient in online meeting software and hardware (A/V equipment such as projectors, cameras, videoconference systems, etc.).
