The On-Site position will be the main customer contact for the company to be supported. Others will assist when needed. This position will report each morning to the customer site, check in for overnight issues, document and repair as needed. If there are no current issues, they may be dispatched to other local field system commissioning or service calls as needed. Tech will be responsible for diagnostic troubleshooting, problem resolution, and reporting for all system failures that may occur. Tech must be able to engineer and apply work arounds if required. In addition, this position will always include the performance of detailed preventive maintenance checks and services intended to maintain the systems at peak operating condition. Check, maintain, fully align, and adjusted to manufacturer’s specifications as needed.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Will be the main customer liaison for service calls, day to day operational issues and training as needed.
Perform preventative maintenance on the various AV systems.
Projection and other display product adjustment and alignment.
Take responsibility to accurately update job documentation as needed.
Field service support of control programs to Creston as needed to resolve service issues (with the aid of a programmer), compile, upload and download capability.
Field service support of networked devices in conjunction with internal customer IT (Routers, IP Protocols, etc.).
Perform service tasks in a timely and quality conscious manner including but not limited to assisting with: pulling cable, installing connectors, mounting projectors, and hanging ceiling mounts.
Required Skills and Abilities
Minimum 2-3 years servicing and troubleshooting in the AV or related electronic field.
Effectively communicate with employees, customers, and colleagues.
Self-starter with the ability to work and think independently and ensuring deadlines and expectations are met.
Detailed computer knowledge of MS OS and display drivers.
Knowledge of signal flow for audio, video, and control on large systems.
Experience with keeping all equipment up to date on the latest firmware, and software updates.
Experience with Various Videoconferencing equipment and configuration as to work with customer IT departments (Cisco, Polycom, Lifesize, ETC.).
Read, write, and interpret electronic schematics and architectural blueprints as need.
Valid Driver’s License and a Motor Vehicle Record to meet company standards.
Ability to update DSP equipment. (Biamp)
Adhere to and understand OSHA standards.
Desired Skills and Abilities
Minimum 3-5 years servicing and troubleshooting in commercial AV or related electronic field.
Programming capability of AV control system (AMX , Creston , Extron or Kramer) – changes and troubleshooting.
Ability to program and configure various DSP equipment. (Biamp, BSS, Extron, Polycom)
Experience with streaming equipment, Encoders/Decoders, distributions systems and software. (Haivision)
Field Commissioning of AV systems.
Experience with Barco TransForm N CMS processing equipment, video walls, and software.
Experience with Cisco Videoconferencing equipment to include Telepresence infrastructure, working with customer IT departments to configure and troubleshoot issues.
Experience with HDBaseT TX/RX and switching systems (Crestron, Extron, AMX)
Experience with Blonder Tongue HFC/SMATV headend and field distribution system equipment to include building fiber and coaxial distribution.
Industry and manufacture certifications very desirable.
Avixa (Info COMM) CTS, CTS-I, CTS-D
Training on Control systems and DSPs .
Education and/or Experience
Formal or Military education in Electronics or related field preferred.
Minimum of a High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.
Minimum of 5 - 7 years of audiovisual integration experience preferred.
Electrical Safety training.
