The Audiovisual Experience Team (AVXT) within Information Technology Services (ITS) at Iowa State University is currently seeking applicants for a Systems Support Specialist. This position will primarily (60%) provide a wide range of audiovisual systems support in the brand new Student Innovation Center (SICTR) as well as support for other locations in the University (40%).The position will report to the Audiovisual Experience Manager in ITS, but primary day-to-day activities will be overseen by the Operations Manager of the Student Innovation Center. Activities in the SICTR include managing audiovisual operations from the control room, room scheduling software support, IT support for the SICTR staff, event support, audiovisual troubleshooting, and assisting with the Media Production Suite. Occasionally, the specialist will assist with troubleshooting calls or audiovisual installation activity outside the SICTR in support of the AVXT. In addition to audiovisual solutions,ITS also provides core computing, network services, enterprise systems, and information security resources to students, faculty, and staff. ITS also collaborates with technology experts campus wide to provide specialized AV and IT resources to academic and business units.
The successful candidate for this position will have outstanding communication and customer service skills,strong audio visual and IT technology skills, the ability to work in collaboration with various groups of people,and excellent problem solving skills.The role will require occasional night and weekend work to support events in the SICTR
The University is in the process of implementing a new classification and compensation structure. The impending change is expected to be completed by Fall 2020. Any P&S employee hired through this posting may be assigned a new title and associated pay grade upon the employment start date (and after the initial offer), commensurate with qualifications required for the position. The duties and responsibilities of the posted position, in addition to compensation offered, will not be affected by this process.
