We are excited to announce an opening with our Artistic Operations team for a Production Manager. This position is an essential member of the Dallas Symphony Orchestra’s Artistic Operations team. The position reports to the Director of Operations and Education Programs with a primary focus on Pops, Dallas Symphony Presents, and Parks series. The Production Manager handles all logistical and technical support to deliver concert production at the highest professional level. This position will be also responsible for planning artist transportation, hotels, catering, and will work closely with third-party vendors for backline and audio/visual support. The Production Manager will be in constant contact with artist managers, conductors, tour managers, production managers, and other Dallas Symphony Artistic Operations team members to plan and execute all back of house needs. The selected candidate will often supervise the stage crew from the load-in process to rehearsals, concerts and load-out. The Production Manager must ensure compliance of both stage crew and musician’s union collective bargaining agreements and foster positive relationships with orchestra members and stage crew. This position also participates as a member of the Artistic Operations team in the sourcing of program content for Pops and Dallas Symphony Presents concert activity.

Candidates must have:
-Detailed knowledge of live concert production equipment, including but now limited to audio, lighting, video equipment, and standard orchestral equipment
-Prior experience working with an orchestra
-Prior experience working with IATSE crew members
-Excellent written and verbal communication skills
-Project management skills
-The ability to read music
-Experience all facets of contract management such as negotiating and executing contracts and technical riders
The ideal candidate will have three plus years’ experience in a similar position and a bachelor’s degree in a related field.
