The University of Michigan Clinical Simulation Center (UMCSC) is seeking candidates for the position of Administrative Assistant Senior. The UMCSC is an innovative instructional environment and learning laboratory providing challenging, immersive simulation training for physicians, nurses and other health care professionals at the University of Michigan. As part of the Department of Learning Health Sciences, the UMCSC plays an integral role in leading change through innovative and effective education and establishing assessment methodologies used in clinical care. The mission of the Clinical Simulation Center is to advance best practices in healthcare education and improve patient safety through the development of effective simulation-based instruction, robust assessment, and rigorous research.
This position will serve as Administrative Assistant supporting faculty and staff of Clinical Simulation Center and support for the Simulation Technicians.
Provide administrative and technical support to the UMCSC including, but not limited to:
Schedule activities in the UMCSC including simulators, equipment and space to accommodate multiple concurrent events and work closely with other UMCSC staff to assure high quality client service.
Provide clerical duties including, but not limited to, answering phones and emails, distributing AHA course material, receiving deliveries, and serving as a facilitator for client interactions. Assist with ordering and receiving supplies.
Assist with transport, assembly/disassembly of equipment, furniture, simulators, instruments and accessories. Provide technical and operational support of simulators, computers, audio visual and other simulation center equipment.
Represent the UMCSC and the department to other university personnel and outside contacts. Provide reception coverage in the UMCSC; guide users in finding appropriate location and direct users to complete the online CSC check-in/check-out requirements.
Process Concur reports, approve Marketsite carts, Process Cash deposits (credit card / checks)
Generate PO payment <$10k
Accommodate a flexible shift schedule to support the educational programs hosted by the UMCSC. Assigned shifts are primarily days, but occasional weekend or evening shifts may be required.
Participate in special projects, as required.
Exceptional interpersonal, organizational, written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to manage multiple calendars, schedules, and deadlines

Strong background in computer use, including but not limited to basic setup and troubleshooting of desktop and portable devices.
Experience with, and understanding of productivity software including but not limited to: Microsoft Office, Excel and other databases, Email, and Digital calendars
Familiarity with audio-visual equipment and other multimedia technologies including but not limited to: presentation hardware and software, and video conferencing.
Experience with basic financial policy and payment processing and reporting
Must have the physical ability to move equipment, furniture and lift over 40 lbs.
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
Ability to work within a team or as a part of a group.
A high school education or equivalent and more than four years of experience.
Bachelor Degree or equivalent years of experience.
Previous experience in medical simulation or equivalent experience preferred.
Familiarity with Laerdal (LLEAP), Gaumard (UNI), CAE (Maestro, Muse) and or other simulation software.
A technical background, some medical terminology and experience in a clinical environment.
Experience with processing Concur reports, approving Marketsite carts, processing cash deposits (credit card / checks), generating PO payment or other equivalent financial processing
