Reporting to the R&D Director, Technological Solutions, the incumbent will be working as an IT expert for all Solotech operations. He or she will serve as the company's resource person for audiovisual information technology.
Apply a structured approach to coordinating management of efficient delivery (wiring diagrams, schedules, budgets, specific expectations, clear communications, close tracking);
Advise management regarding the acquisition of new equipment within a set budget;
Design and draft diagrams of custom networks for permanent installations and temporary events (tours, shows, corporate events) based on Solotech's new requirements;
Keep a technological watch to help the company evolve by attending trade shows to find new products and suppliers;
Work with administration and the department's managers to prevent and identify extraordinary expenses (special maintenance or purchases versus subrentals);
Provide technical support to the various teams during technical installation and when setting up for events;
Actively participate in project execution (tour kick-offs, corporate events, permanent installations) when his or her expertise is required;
Take part in key improvement or maintenance projects that lead to greater operational efficiency and safety;
Initiate and be part of employee training and help develop training sessions for various departments;
Conduct field visits whenever possible to assess and observe the work of teams and equipment condition;
Share his or her knowledge with the workshop team and with production technicians as necessary;
Ensure that existing Solotech standards (established by the Technology Committee) are met by teams in the workshop and on the road;
Attend training seminars on the communication protocols used in the audiovisual industry;
Participate in all other projects identified by management.
7 to 10 years of IT experience in the audiovisual industry;
In-depth technical knowledge of networks (Dante, AVB, Crestron, Q-Sys, etc.);
Knowledge of IT components and operating systems;
Knowledge of VOIP video: ST2110, ST2022 (a key asset);
High level of proficiency in both official languages, both spoken and written;
Proficiency with AutoCad 2020 or more recent version;
Proficiency with common Office suite software;
Ability to work with deadlines and manage pressure;
Meticulous and detail-oriented;
Highly developed organizational skills;
Sound interpersonal skills;
Strong aptitudes for client-based approach;
Good team spirit and collaboration;
Resourcefulness and autonomy.
