The Tier II Support Technician works in a team environment to provide quality customer service and support for information technology. S/he is responsible for installing, maintaining, and upgrading computers and peripherals, as well as installing and upgrading software applications, and assisting faculty, staff, and students with computer issues. The incumbent provides support for maintaining our computer labs, audio-visual classrooms, and video conference systems. Troubleshooting and resolving computer problems, the Support Technician has additional responsibilities that includes but are not limited to:
Installs hardware, software, and peripherals such as printers and scanners.
Assists with classroom support as needed.
Helps to set up video conference sessions.
Provides video capture support as needed.
Maintains daily contact with other Information Technology Staff to exchange, and/ or request information, resolves problems, and collaborates on projects.
Responds to service desk ticketing system.
Enhances general IT knowledge base.
Oversees other duties as assigned.
Requirements and Qualifications
Bachelor of Science in computer science/ engineering related field
Minimum of two years related experience; Additional education may be substituted for experience and education
