Job Description Summary
Information Technology Support Specialist for Wharton, San Francisco will provide first and second tier support for all information technology needs.
*Please note, this position is located in San Francisco, CA.Â Interested candidates must either reside locally or be willing to relocate at their own expense.
Provide first and second tier support for all Information Technology. This includes, but isnâ™t limited to, desktop and laptop hardware and software, printers, mobile devices, and network configurations.Â Advise on purchasing decisions and deploy, support, and maintain desktop and laptop computers.Â Connect end-user clients to the appropriate resources to meet operational goals.
Provide comprehensive support of Classroom Technologies used by faculty, staff, students, and other visitors during campus operations, including on-site classes, co-curricular programs and a variety of seminars and speaker panels. Examples include, answering emergency calls, completing scheduled jobs which include starting in-room class recordings, assisting faculty, staff, and guests with using local systems, setting up microphones and speakers, responding to emails via our ticketing system, initiating and supporting web conferences, troubleshooting problem equipment, replacing failed equipment, testing new equipment and technology solutions. Assist with managing and maintaining campus infrastructure, advising on campus operations, and assisting clients with understanding how business processes map to critical technical workflows.
*To respond to campus support needs, early morning shifts, as well as weekend and evening shifts are required.*
A BA/BS degree and 2-3 years of IT and audiovisual-related experience (or an equivalent combination of education and experience).
Demonstrated knowledge of systems analysis and support. Examples include, but are not limited to, comprehensive hardware and software troubleshooting, navigating Active Directory objects, understanding of basic security concepts of Anti-Virus and Anti-Malware technologies, use of desktop imaging technologies, etc.
Excellent interpersonal and written communication skills, along with a strong customer service orientation
An ability to act with autonomy when faced with problems of increasing technical complexity, and a proven track record of utilizing troubleshooting methodologies across standard IT and AV technologies
The following qualifications are strongly preferred:
Familiarity with audio-visual systems (e.g. Crestron Pro3 devices, DSP Audio gear, Lutron Lighting controls, etc), video recording, and audio-visual setup in an Academic setting
Familiarity with desktop support software (e.g. Bomgar, Manage Engine, GPOs)
ITIL Foundations certification
