Carnegie Mellon University's MSCF department is searching for an Audio Visual and IT Support Manager. This is an excellent opportunity if you thrive in an interesting and challenging work environment. In this role, you will be responsible for providing all technical and related administrative support for the students, faculty, staff, and facility of our program in the New York office. Reporting to the Director of Technical Administration, you will assist in the management, development, and implementation of policies, procedures, and protocols to ensure uninterrupted service delivery.
Core responsibilities will include:
Initiating and overseeing all distance learning classes, staff meetings, student and club meetings, and special events via full-duplex videoconferencing in multiple high-end audiovisual classrooms and conference rooms.
Assisting in the management of the MSCF video server, ensuring all classes and events are recorded, as per the schedule. Continually checking and maintaining the AV systems at the NYC location to ensure a zero-defect recording and broadcasting; working with the Pittsburgh AV and IT staff as needed to ensure successful broadcasts.
Assisting in the production of all classes and events by helping with presentations, managing media assets, operating and framing the camera correctly, as well as assisting with furniture arrangements.
Maintaining accurate, timely, and professional communications and reports. Proactively verifies and confirms teaching and course schedules, types of media used in delivery of class materials, and provides a ready resource for the connectivity requirements.
Maintaining the MSCF website by keeping the content updated and fresh. Work with various operating units to obtain new content. Review website content for accuracy.
Serving as the primary, on-site help-desk support for students and staff. Assist with email and software installations and issues, maintain and manage a collection of loaner laptops.
Collaboratively work with CMU's central IT support group to ensure proper network connectivity of all systems and devices. Manages and registers guests and LAN connections to the network. Support and maintain the on-site printers and scanners.

You should demonstrate:
Sound reasoning and problem-solving skills in order to take a leadership role in relating equipment needs, recommending best practices for presentation quality standards, and providing immediate resolution of equipment problems.
Strong technical aptitude and trouble-shooting ability to facilitate proper use of equipment in classroom and event spaces, particularly with AV equipment to include control systems, sound boards, projectors, microphones, video cameras, and related tools.
Excellent interpersonal skills, ability to pay close attention to detail, work on multiple projects, and prioritize work.
Ability to communicate and interact with a diverse group of customers with varying technical expertise.
You should be able and willing to work outside of normal business hours.Working hours will adjust according to the academic needs of the mini-semester and/or schedule of events. Hours will often include evenings until 8:30pm, along with occasional weekend hours.
Bachelor's degree in computing services, information technology, or related field required; combination of education, experience, and training may be substituted.
Minimum three years of technical experience required; experience within higher education preferred. Experience with telecommunications infrastructure, Ethernet connectivity, and 802.11 A/B/G in a Windows & Mac environment.
Experience with IP and ISDN videoconferencing, audio systems, and SMART classrooms highly desired.
Some experience in graphic design and video editing with Apple and Adobe products preferred.
