Mead & Hunt, Inc., a nationally recognized professional services consulting firm, has a position available for a technology systems designer. Responsibilities include designing communications and security infrastructure and layout of technology rooms for new and renovation projects; participating in technical meetings with clients, construction staff, and project team members; assisting with review of reports, specifications, plans, schedules, and studies; assisting with the development of construction cost estimates; performing construction administration tasks and site inspections. Regular travel will be required.
The successful candidate must have an associate degree (or higher) in technology design, engineering technology, or related field and at least five years of relevant experience related to building design (technology systems preferred). If no degree, must have at least seven years of experience related to building design (at least four years of technology systems experience).
The ideal candidate shall have experience with any/all of the following: design and documentation processes of building information and communications technology (ICT) systems involving new and/or building renovation projects; leading design efforts and initiatives related to technology systems for buildings; participating in technical meetings with clients, project teams, etc.; developing construction cost estimates; Revit, AutoCAD and BIM (Building Information Modeling) software; construction administration and site inspections. The ideal candidate will also have: Building Industry Consulting Service International (BICSI) Registered Communications Distribution Designer (RCDD), American Society for Industrial Security (ASIS), Physical Security Professional (PSP) certification, AVIXA Certified Technology Specialist (CTS, CTS-D, CTS-I), or related registrations or certifications.
