Friends Community School in College Park, MD, seeks a full-time Director of Technology.

The Director of Technology is responsible for both long-range planning and day-to-day operations of FCS’s technology functions.The Director of Technology manages all academic and administrative technology systems, ensures the effective functioning of the infrastructure, and is a member of the senior administrative team, reporting to the Head of School.
Duties include the following:
Maintain computer platforms and network servers, including backup systems. Provide network account support and maintenance of computer systems (laptops, desktops, tablets), interactive whiteboards, printers, multi-function printers, phones, document cameras, projectors.
Collaborate with Director of Finance in developing and administering the technology budget, vendor selection, contract review, etc.
Purchase, configure, install, and maintain new hardware, including network equipment, individual devices, VOIP phone system, and portions of the security system. Manage upgrades and/or repair of existing systems.
Maintain inventory of all hardware, software licensing, subscriptions, and warranties.
Administer, manage, and maintain the G-Suite environment, which includes Gmail, Groups, Drive, Sites, Vault, Mobile Device Management, Chrome, etc.
Assess and respond in a timely way to end-user technical needs and help-desk requests for classroom technology, office technology, and audio-visual systems throughout the school.
Support classroom instruction by facilitating learning through the integration of technology. Work with academic and other administrators to implement technology plans.
Develop and deliver training for teachers and staff regarding technology use.
Teach and/or team-teach 1-2 sections of technology-related curriculum.
Promote the ethical and responsible use of technology for all school users.

Required skills and experience:
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Information Systems, Information Science & Educational Technology, Management Information Systems, or comparable experience.
At least 3 years’ experience in technology management.
Experience with Microsoft Server 2012R2 Administration including Active Directory and Group Policy.
Strong understanding of common networking concepts DNS, TCP/IP, DHCP, OSI model.
Proficient with many versions of Desktop operating systems including Microsoft and Mac OS.
Experience with VMware virtualization technologies and Veeam Enterprise backup solution.
Experience with Gmail, G Suite for Education (Google Apps) and BYOD environments.
Knowledge of trends in technology and educational technology.
Ability to envision, plan, assess, and implement technology needs.
