The Field Engineer is a technical lead for the project team. They will be integral in reviewing technical documents, advising on field conditions that may affect the installation, leading in-shop mockups, reviewing GUI design, and will lead the commissioning of systems. They will work closely with the Project Manager, Superintendent, and Programmer to ensure that the finished project achieves its goals.
Essential Job Functions
Interfaces with assigned Project Manager, Superintendent, and client contacts.
Works with programmer/programming team to define system controls.
Responsible for in-shop testing and escalating and resolving issues with equipment.
Interfaces with Project Manager, Superintendent, installation technicians and programmers during installation and the commissioning process.
Assists Project Superintendent with field questions and clarifications.
Assists the Project Manager with handling client requested changes to scope (change orders).
Responsible for IP configuration of all AV devices residing on a network.
Responsible for documentation of configuration settings
Responsible for field testing and escalating and resolving issues with equipment and programs.
Works with Programmer to load and test code.
Advanced configuration of audio system setup and gain structure.
Advanced configuration of video system setup.
Responsible for redlining drawings for as-built purposes.
Responsible for managing versions and storing final DSP code on the project portal page.
Works with the Programmer to ensure that latest code version is stored on the project portal page.
Provide training on AV systems to clients.
Non-essential Job Functions
Assist in covering other departmental positions as needed.
Assist in other departmental processing, tasks and auditing functions as requested.
