Under the direction of the facility Director, the incumbent is responsible for the technical event operations at the Bren Events Center and occasionally within athletic complex. Areas of responsibility to include: All Technical operations for event support including Audio, Visual, Lighting, and Rigging within the Arena and Room areas of Bren Events Center and also areas within athletic complex including, but not limited to: Crawford Gym, Crawford Fields, Anteater Stadium, Anteater Ballpark, and Aquatics Complex. Incumbent to manage all technical elements from coordinating capabilities and details with clients as assigned. Position will also manage recruitment, hiring, training, and supervision of student and support staff for all technical operations which may include, but not limited to: technicians for Audio, Lighting, Video, Spot light operators, and camera operators.Incumbent will manage and perform technical operations for events and occasionally meet with clients to discuss or determine level of services needed as assigned. Position will require constant communication with supervisor and various managers along with all support staff. Ability to interpret Event Manifests and Event diagrams is important in handling execution of technical requirements for all events. Ability to make independent judgements during events in absence of supervision, while maintaining that university policies or departmental procedures are not compromised. Make appropriate changes to technical services as needed to ensure safety of all staff, clients and guests to ensure that all code compliance is met. Anticipate and trouble-shoot technical issues and/or event related issues during event activity.In addition, the incumbent may assist with event management duties for events with heavy technical elements in the Bren Events Center or areas within athletic complex as assigned by facility Director and/or Senior Associate Athletic Director. Occasionally handle Event Management responsibilities as assigned with supervision of technical and operational staff (in-house and contracted employees).
