The Accountant plays a key role in all accounting functions, including monthly close, financial statement production, reconciliations, and work papers. This role will interact directly with all levels and areas of the organization to explain and maintain financial statements according to generally accepted accounting principles. As part of the Finance Team, this role works closely with senior Finance Managers and Directors to implement and refine processes and to implement system improvements to take the Finance Team and accounting processes to the next level.
Major Duties & Responsibilities:
Review the detailed general ledger and prepare monthly account reconciliations to ensure accuracy, completeness, and compliance with GAAP and company policies. Identify, investigate and resolve variances as needed.
Assist the Accounting Manager in ensuring the timely month-end closing and proper maintenance of the general ledger. Prepare of journal entries as required.
Manage data integrations into general ledger system from ancillary A/P systems.
Creation of detailed reports to illustrate data and communicate issues to customers, both internal and external.
Complete year-end audit work papers and related reports as assigned.
Manage the company’s fixed assets, including the proper recording of acquisitions, depreciation, and disposals.
Review and post international subsidiary accounts as assigned.
Compute taxes owed and prepare Consumer Use and Sales Tax Returns, ensuring compliance with payment, reporting, and other regulatory requirements.
Facilitate GST/VAT reporting for tax returns for international entities.
Identify opportunities for system and process improvements and recommend solutions.
Assist other Finance Team members in the daily operations and special projects as needed.

Education/Experience: Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or related financial discipline required. Minimum of 3 years professional accounting experience required. Multi-currency experience would be an advantage.
Technical Skills: To perform this job successfully an individual should have knowledge of Microsoft Dynamics GP, Fonteva (Salesforce), and Concur and possess advanced proficiency with Microsoft Excel and other components of the Microsoft Office Suite.
Other skills: To perform this job successfully an individual must possess strong verbal and written communication skills, high attention to detail, and critical thinking. Must be self-motivated with the ability to work independently and manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously. Must display the willingness to take on special projects. Must possess the ability to work collaboratively and contribute to a team.
