Director of Audio Visual Event Services - Information Systems Technology, Law Center
All Georgetown Law Center technology support activities are handled by the Information Systems Technology Service Desk (SD). The SD serves as the Single Point of Contact (SPOC) for all end-users (faculty/students/staff) who need help with any technology issues and facilities incidents or requests.
The Director of Audio Visual (AV) Services is responsible for planning, coordinating, budgeting, staffing, and overall administration of the AV Event Services. The position will be developing, recommending, and coordinating policies, plans, and programs for application of existing and new audiovisual, video production and media streaming technology for event purposes. As a Production Director for all Major Events and Video Productions relating to Events this position will administer and development all event site AV emerging technologies. Additionally, the incumbent will oversee the planning, designing, and implementation of new Audio-Visual equipment and systems. The Director of Audio-Visual Services will work under strict deadlines, within budget, and to the user's satisfaction. The Director will then evaluate program assignments and provide clients with billing for services rendered. Duties include but are not limited to:
Coordinate and assign work schedules for staff.
Utilize ticketing system to complete projects.
Ensure work quality and quantity aligns with customer expectations.
Effectively manage employee work performance and evaluate accordingly.
Determine appropriate work methods and deployments.
Develop policy and procedures for department.
Work with department head to make staff changes, discipline employees, or change talent.
Develop strategies for best use of IT professionals and skill enhancement.
Coordinates, delegates, supervises, and works with the Department Personnel to provide all department services and ensures proper provisions of all public address systems and AV support for special events (such as Conferences, Dedications, Fundraisers, Mock Trials, Special Lectures, Memorials Services, etc.) both on and off Law Center campus.
Analyze business needs for media support.
Deploy best medium and equipment for community use. Train community on general use of changing technologies.
While understanding historic processes, support programs, interpret user requests, and provide proper diagnosis of needs.
Schedule AV and TV equipment/ services.
Coordinate and schedule all complex and high level requests (such as special events with dignitaries).
Equipment and Facilities
Design, develop, and oversee implementation of new video production, media streaming, special event site and systems.
Select equipment vendors manage modifications and maintenance.
Assess products and recommend maintenance for systems.
Oversee repairs of all AV event equipment campus wide.
Coordinate with outside vendors for AV services to be rendered to Law Center (i.e. rental of special equipment, hiring of sub-contractors and freelance production personnel, contracting for production services).
Other duties as assigned, including audio and video production.
10 years of experience managing complex VIP events and technical teams
Demonstrated ability in dealing with diverse stakeholder groups and working under pressure
Experience in the fields of project management, process design, and ITIL Service Delivery
Experience in the following technologies required: Crestron, Extron, Wirecast, Final Cut Pro, Panopto, Cisco and Polycom video conferencing systems, Mac and PC proficient
Must have working knowledge of safety equipment: gloves, eye and ear protection, etc.
