This person will direct the Conference Services team which manages all events/spaces across campus including but not limited to the Ministry and Performing Arts Center or MPAC.
This person will coordinate all AV/technology needs for the MPAC.
This person should be a self-motivated individual.
DUTIESANDRESPONSIBILITIES (Any one position may not include all of the listed duties, nor do all of the listed examples include all tasks which may be found in positions within this classification)
Supervising Coordinator of Conference Services and student worker team in the completion of their tasks. Ensure University Master Calendar is up to date and utilized by internal and external constituents.
Training of professional and student staff in setting up/tear down of events, scheduling software, professionalism and customer service.
Building relationships with student workers and Coordinator.
Providing excellent and timely customer service to internal and external constituents
Managing Events; setting up, tearing down, event operations, obtaining needed labor, I.T. set up/operation/tear down, sound/lighting set up/operation/tear down, and provide friendly customer service
Plan, organize, schedule and coordinate Performing Arts Center facility operations, events and performances, the use of technical and non-technical equipment, and design appropriate lighting, sound and stage equipment.
Work with Coordinator on the scheduling of events and activities.
Assist with the coordination of productions with internal/external event representatives in order to prepare for facilities requirements; Inspect and perform equipment and system maintenance and refurbishing as needed.
Prepare Performing Arts Center for performances, setting and focusing lights, setting up the sound system; program lighting computer to ensure proper timing of lights.
Communicate with departments and staff within the university and external organizations to coordinate productions, work with performers and performance groups, and other issues related to the performing arts center operations.
Research, recommend and order new equipment, instruments and other purchases for the Performing Arts Center and other venue spaces.
Coordinate light and sound for productions or the scheduling of personnel to manage the lighting or sound for productions.
Recruit strategic external constituents who will rent out and utilize space at the University for revenue generation (I.E., outside events, conferences, concerts, etc).
Oversee the scheduling of events in the facilities available for booking at the University.
Train designated users on the Designing/Programming/Focusing Lights/Sound Equipment.
Perform assigned responsibilities, duties, and tasks according to established practices, procedures, techniques, and standards in a safe and efficient manner and with minimal supervision.
Approve student worker payroll by deadline of Monday at 10:00 a.m. (if necessary)

Education, Training and Experience: oBachelors in Business Management, Marketing, or related field oManagement experience
Skill and Ability to: oFriendly, outgoing personality oSelf-motivated, and organized oFamiliarity with IT, sound equipment, and lighting oBe able to communicate clearly and professionally
Additional Preferred Qualifications: oSome weekend and evening work will be required to help manage events oMust be able to lift at least 50 lbs
