Job Description Essential Functions: -
Sets up for events and programs including tables, chairs, a/v equipment, bar, food, glassware, linens, event equipment, floral arrangements, decorations, lighting, etc. -
Attends assigned programs and events to manage behind-the-scenes logistics. -
Provides a/v support before and during programs as assigned. -
Pours beer, wine, and non-alcoholic beverages during special events.Removes and replaces furniture as needed. -
Stores equipment and materials properly and in the correct areas. -
Picks up, returns, and folds linens from the Facilities department. -
Breaks down events in a timely manner. -
Keeps records of alcohol consumption. -
Shops for drinks, food, plates, napkins, silverware, glassware and other supplies for museum. -
Provides administrative support for department. -
Interacts with museum donors, members, families, and visitors -
Maintains a professional appearance and demeanor. -
Performs other related duties as assigned Required Education, Knowledge, Skills, Abilities: -
Associate's degree and at least three years of experience, or an equivalent combination of education and related experience. -
Ability to organize priorities. -
Effective communication skills, both oral and written. -
Ability to work as a team member, and independently. -
Knowledge of set-up, operation, and maintenance of audiovisual equipment in a museum environment. -
Proficiency in computer use including Microsoft Office, Google suite, and other relevant software. -
Ability to read, understand and follow safety procedures. -
Ability to work flexible schedule including after hours and/or weekends, as specified by supervisor. -
Knowledge of basic alcoholic beverage service and storage and/or ability to learn safe and appropriate practices quickly and effectively. -
Must be able to meet the requirements of the University's automobile insurance policy. -
Physical Requirements: Heavy work. Exerting up to 100 pounds of force occasionally and/or up to 50 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects. Preferred Education, Knowledge, Skills, Abilities: - Experience in a museum or art related field.
