MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
A Master\u2019s degree in education, sociology, anthropology, public administration, human resources management or other related field. A doctorate is preferred. Experience performing the duties described above may substitute for the education requirement on a year-for-year basis. Five years of experience working in a diversity, equity and inclusion role or an affirmative action and EEO compliance function that involved the duties and principal accountabilities described above. Experience in higher education and a demonstrated understanding of faculty, academic freedom and shared governance helpful. Management and supervisory experience desired. Knowledge of training, conflict resolution, restorative justice and mediation methods.
WORK ENVIRONMENT AND PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Work pressure, disturbances of workflow, and/or irregularities in work schedule are frequent and require significant adaptation. The performance rapidly evolves, requiring continual upgrading of skills. Work is mostly sedentary and confined to an office setting with periodic outside activity for training and intervention. This is an exempt position; extended hours may be required in order to accomplish objectives. Occasional evening and weekend services are expected.
Physical exertion includes standing during training, carrying materials and hand-outs, flip charts and other audio-visual equipment.
