The West Virginia University College of Education and Human Services (CEHS) is seeking applications for a Professional Technologist 1 supporting the Teaching and Learning Technologies Center (TLTC) classrooms, and technology needs of the faculty, staff, and students. This position is responsible for the day to day operations include the maintenance and troubleshooting of computers, printers, classroom technology, computer installation, software installation and software updates.
In order to be successful in this position, the ideal candidate will:
Perform regular maintenance and testing on all classroom technology to ensure proper functions, this includes projectors, Smart Boards, and 170 computers.
Schedule, coordinate, and conduct classroom training sessions for faculty and staff as needed.
Assist Director with support to faculty, staff and students on all devices within the TLTC classrooms including all video conferencing hardware and room controls.
Coordinate TLTC classroom scheduling using WVU 25 Live system.
Assist Director with software installation and updates using SCCM an Jamf Pro
Provide system training to CEHS faculty and staff, this include both PC and MAC systems
Monitor and update system security systems and system updates using Sophos, SCCM, and Jamf Pro systems.
Assist Director to ensure the all HIPPA and FERPA regulations are being followed by CEHS faculty, staff, and students.
Work with the Colleges Web Designer to keep the TLTC web page updated.
Trains and supervises the graduate assistants and student employees.
Bachelor's degree in a technology related field or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Experience managing, troubleshooting and supporting multiple pieces of technological equipment in a critical, time sensitive environment.
Experience training novice users how to use complicated technology systems.
Experience designing and implementing technology systems
Experience with SCCM, Jamf Pro, and Sophos.
Excellent communication skills -- written and verbal.
Outstanding people skills
Ability to set and meet project deadlines.
Ability to troubleshoot and correct problems with various technologies.
Ability to research, test and implement new technologies.
Ability to manage Mac and PC computer systems, server systems and storage systems.
Knowledge of security remediation methods to secure classroom and AV technologies.
