The Production and Technical Specialist reports to the Director of the ArtLab. She/he will coordinate the technical and production operations related to the Harvard ArtLab located on Harvard's Allston campus and the Annex located on Harvard's Cambridge campus. Both the ArtLab and the Annex serve Harvard faculty, students and visiting performing and artists. Both sites are designed to be flexible and accommodate artist production and experimentation in diverse artistic practices and disciplines.
She/ he participate in a wide range of projects identified by the Director and will oversee technical and production operations in both sites including a fabrication workshop that contains a variety of tools including laser cutter, 3D printer, CNC router, and wood working machines; Oversee the studios at the ArtLab which include sound and video editing studios, Oversee theatrical lighting and video projection for residencies, performance and screenings; Public Events: oversee set up for public programming; Installation of artwork, including but not limited to building cases and mounts, installing audiovisual equipment, projectors and media players, adjusting lighting.

Candidates MUST meet the following basic qualifications in order to be considered for this role:
Minimum of three years of technical and/ or production experience working with artists, performers or designers; Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite applications.
Bachelor's degree in the arts is preferred. Demonstrated ability to work with artists, diverse faculty, staff, and students across a wide range of interdisciplinary situations; Working knowledge and experience in artist studio, theatre shop or manufacturing labs and on/or advanced manufacturing or rapid prototyping tools including 3D printers/scanners, laser cutters, and machinery; Site management: stage, venue or artist studio; Working knowledge and experience with video projection, audio and lighting for performance; Working knowledge and experience with sound and video editing studios.
This is a 2-year term position with the possibility of renewal.
