The Office of Information Technology is seeking to hire a new member of the Audio/Visual Installation, Maintenance, and Design team. The successful applicant will be responsible for hands-on installation of large and small-scale audio visual (AV) systems, and should be prepared to share examples of recent work. The position will be called upon at times for troubleshooting and customer support on existing AV systems. Candidate should have familiarity with general IP networking concepts, network-based and digital video systems, digital audio systems, and control systems. Position has the potential to grow into AV network administration, support management, and/or AV system design. Additional tasks may include but are not limited to: network device logging and monitoring, inventory/warehouse management, supervision of student employees, system commissioning, end-user training, instructional document creation, customer service, digital signage support/configuration, server and database administration.
Entry into applicant pool requires a high school diploma or equivalent and four (4) years of relevant experience in complex audio video systems set up and repair, and/or complex networking configuration and operation. Employer will consider advanced degrees in lieu of experience. The salary range for Level III is $35,000 - $58,400.
Level IV requires a high school diploma or equivalent and five (5) years of relevant experience in complex audio video systems set up and repair, and/or complex networking configuration and operation. Employer will consider advanced degrees in lieu of experience. The budgeted salary range for Level IV is $50,000 - $70,000.
This position will require practical knowledge of electronic shop methods, procedures, and tools; as well as current audio/visual, computer, and networking technologies. The successful candidate will be a highly self-motivated person who is capable of performing with limited supervision and possesses exceptional creativity, communication, and interpersonal skills.
Candidate must be capable of working on ladders/scaffolding and comfortable with power tools.
