The Senior Audiovisual Design Engineer's role is to provide audiovisual consulting and design services for AV/IT systems throughout the CU Boulder campus. In this role, you will perform advanced audiovisual design, including the generation of detailed line drawings, equipment lists, system functionality documentation, while ensuring that unit business requirements are met and that practices align with campus-wide direction and standards. You’ll actively participate in the design process for multiple, concurrent projects while ensuring efficiency, accuracy and quality of work.

Audiovisual Design Engineer.
Audiovisual System Engineer.
Audiovisual Control System Specialist.
Engineering Drawing Specialist
Evaluate new and emerging technologies relating to audiovisual, multimedia, academic technology, distance learning, and classroom solutions that may provide value to the campus, or serve to fulfill academic and instructional objectives.
Owner advocacy in audiovisual design and engineering.

What we require:
Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or similar field of study. A combination of education and experience in the design and implementation of complex audiovisual systems may be substituted for the Bachelor's degree on a year- for-year basis.
3 years of experience in the design of audiovisual systems, including projection and display; sound and speech reinforcement; audio and video conferencing; analog and digital signal processing, distribution and routing; and control systems.
Ability to take customer business requirements and translate them into architectural drawings and schematics with associated equipment lists.
Expertise in software tools used to create engineering drawings. Experience using AutoCAD, or other system design tools.
Detailed knowledge of audiovisual architectural requirements including sightline studies; structural support requirements; cabling pathways; power and grounding.
General knowledge of IT services, hardware, infrastructure and system architecture (IP; LAN; WAN; Routers; Switchers; Hubs; Wireless Access Points).
Proficiency in using project management tools, Microsoft Office products, including Microsoft Visio.
CTS, CTS-D, CTS-I, C-EST-L2 or additional industry-related certifications.
Preferred qualifications may be used to further reduce the pool of applicants to those who are most highly qualified.
