We are looking for a driven individual to join our U.S. team as a vice president of sales in our Amherst, NY office. The ideal candidate will be self-motivated, reliable, and a forward-looking professional.
The vice president of sales will be responsible for attaining monthly budgeted sales and gross profit, building up the dealer base, establishing strategic business relationships, and providing ideas for strategic sales plans and their implementation. Leads the sales team by example. Establishes monthly sales targets for team members and works with them to ensure those targets are met.
Duties and Responsibilities (include but are not limited to):
Works with senior management to establish and deploy monthly targets and other key objectives.
Implementing targeted campaigns, activity expectations and general policies for team.
Integrating and aligning sales plans with available processes, IT systems, talent and other areas in order to increase the capability and success of sales force.
Acts as a catalyst and develop effective sales strategies that will meet monthly objectives, and work with senior management and other departments, to make them happen.
Personally manages a group of accounts. These accounts offer insight into the current market dynamics and should require an enhanced skill set that is not possessed elsewhere on the team.
Aggressively pursues personal monthly sales target on those accounts.
Establishes a relationship with each territory's top 10 dealers and key prospects.
Organizes and maintains a list of accounts and prospects in the approved target markets
Pursuing these prospects in an effort to add them to the client base
Work with partners to develop long term contracts at the end-user level.
Endeavor to open targeted accounts every month (personal efforts). Target of 8 per month.
Contacting your customer base via phone daily and once a week with a personal email
Ensures the accurate gathering of all account and sales information in designated ERP program
Work with sales people to grow relationship “width and depth” within account base
Support marketing with the execution of trade show and dealer show appearances.
Complete monthly sales report on performance, issues and opportunities
Maintaining awareness of inventory levels
Retaining and updating product knowledge
Lead by example – in all aspects of sales performance, prospecting and customer service
Achieve personal monthly sales targets
Responsible for ensuring the recruitment, hiring, training and retention of productive personnel.
In partnership with senior management, monitors, modifies and provides feedback regarding the strategic plan and participates in the development of the long term forecasts of the group.
Ensuring the proper account labeling and call pattern adherence by each rep based on policy
Maintaining management statistics to outline performance of critical success areas
Organizing prospect lists for entire group based on group/territory matrix
Provide product availability information to reps as needed – calling manufacturer contacts as needed
Determining the proper account/rep assignments to maximize SPP sales and margin
Maintaining the validity of the group/territory customer and prospect database for each rep
Providing proper level of motivation and enthusiasm for group’s optimum level of performance helping reps achieve both activity and sales requirements
