The Economics Analyst will prepare analysis of a variety of economic data sets, such as GDP, employment, and business indices to derive insights about the challenges and opportunities in the pro-AV industry. The right candidate will have an innate curiosity to understand the drivers of trends and an ability to distill data into insights. Data technicians/ architects, BI analysts, or IT professionals need not apply.
Major Duties & Responsibilities:
Statistical analysis of economic data, using correlation, regression, and forecasting techniques
Monitoring of economic indicators to provide continual insight
Preparation of written and visual reports and analysis of the trends
Preparation of Powerpoint decks summarizing research findings
Presentation of results to internal/ external audiences
Review of data for quality control purposes
Demonstrated insights capabilities through past work. Writing or Presentation samples are required.
Experience with econo-metrics and data
Strong foundation in data analysis or statistics
Strong familiarity with market research methodologies and data collection techniques
Excellent written and verbal communication skills (writing sample required)
Comfort with going beyond the numbers to tell what they mean and say
Bachelor’s or master’s degree in business, economics, or statistics/mathematics.
Minimum of 5 years of economics or financial analysis within a corporate setting
Expert level Microsoft Office
Proficiency with SPSS, R, Python, SAS or other data analysis toolset
Proficiency with Tableau, PowerBI, or other data visualization toolset is a plus
