Pragmatics, Inc. is seeking an Audio Visual Engineer for our either our Williamsburg or Reston, VA office.
Background: Since 2011, Pragmatics has been a leader (over 4,200 rooms at 40+ sites nationally) in providing DoD/Federal customers state of the art infrastructure that supports standardization, compatibility, inter-operability, scalability, accountability, and sustainability. Among the room types we excel at are classrooms, conference rooms, gaming/sim rooms and auditoriums across multiple services and federal customers . We have award winning expertise in the area of designing technology solutions to meet a mission, providing system integration, acquiring turnkey hardware and software, installing, testing and providing instructors/users/maintainers with training to support technology usages.
Up to 10% travel to customer Installation sites
The Audio Visual Engineer will manage A/V designs from requirements collection through installation and turnover.
Work with a field engineer and/or perform site surveys on installations of current or proposed audio visual rooms to include all A/V, construction, electrical, computing and networking requirements.
Create A/V designs (to include A/V control, video, audio, and networking schematics) as part of Engineering Design Packages.
Generate and submit List of Materials (LOM) and monitor the ordering of A/V equipment and materials.
Coordinate the design review and change process with Government program officials and customers.
Coordinate the creation, integration, and installation of A/V control system programs.
Support the on-site installation efforts of the Team.
Support Field Engineer in the turnover of the completed installations to the Government to include acceptance and training.
US Citizenship. Eligible to hold a Secret clearance.
Minimum 2 years of AV room and control design experience
Experience with control systems, videoconferencing systems with proven experience of designing, switching hardware, audio DSP setup and calibration, SMART interactive products, and basic IT network setup knowledge.
Experience using CAD programs and Microsoft Visio.
Above average communication skills; experience in working in a military environment.
DESIRED: • Crestron design experience preferred • Audio: Biamp (Vocia and Nexia) • Teleconferencing: Polycom (Certified Video Engineer), Tandberg (Certified Engineer) • Experience in deploying audio visual systems in a military environment.
EDUCATION: • Associates degree in technical area and 2-4 years; or 10 years of work experience in lieu of a degree.
