Summary of Position:
The European Program Manager is responsible for the successful programmatic development and execution of AVIXA events within the European region. Content, presenters, venue, food and beverage, and operational aspects are all included in the scope of responsibility. The content at these events will be a mixture of technical and non-technical, as appropriate for each individual event. As AVIXA is highly motivated to broaden its reach and influence outside of the traditional AV channel, the Program Manager, with assistance and guidance from the Director of International Education, will also resource fresh presenters and initiate new conversations focused more on the results of using AV technology. This could also be referred to as “outcomes based” or “customer experience based” content.
Major Duties & Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Serve as AVIXA’s primary program developer for the European region.
Maintain solid connection between AVIXA’s strategic plan and all the programs under the responsibility of the position.
Harmonize program offerings with the unique characteristics of the European region.
Seek strategic partnerships that will enrich our international education profile and reach.
Organize and deliver appropriate educational and conference programs to members and non-members where required.
Collaborate with ISE tradeshow organizer team on content offerings and timing of AVIXA program at ISE to meet the strategic goals of AVIXA and ISE.
Track and record accurate metrics of events within AVIXA’s CRM system.
Favorably represent AVIXA to the membership and the broader audiovisual community
Recruit and work with volunteer leaders, instructors, SMEs, and industry professionals on curriculum development projects within Europe, promoting a sense of community with members.
Develop and maintain budgets for the programs in cooperation with regional team and supervisor
Study, develop and continually improve related job skills.
While there are no direct supervisory responsibilities, the Program Manager will be responsible to direct any temporary staff associated with the events being organized.

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
A minimum of 3 years’ experience in technical curriculum development for an international audience is preferred. Experience in dealing with multiple cultures, customs and languages a plus.
No certifications are mandatory for this position.
Must have well developed skills in Microsoft Office applications including Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint. Should have experience with connecting a computer to the Internet from remote locations. Familiarity with BaseCamp or other project management software a plus.
Must be able to communicate clearly and professionally in English (both written and oral). Additionally, fluency in a second language of either German, Spanish or Italian is required.
The individual must be capable of traveling by air for extended periods of time. Travel could consume up to 20% of a typical year. The individual must feel comfortable dealing with international travel, currency exchange and navigation in multiple countries.
